alsitacel This gathering set out to explore the role of silence and listening within the Christian tradition. It also encouraged all present to embrace silence as a discipline which opens one up to the possibility of the incoming of God.

Ritual

On each table sat a clock and when the clock hit a designated time the table had to fall silent for 5 minutes and listen to what was going on around them. Each table had a different time for silence. Video projectors filled the walls of the bar was images of static while T.V. monitors littered the room with the same image.

Gift

Everyone was given a CD to take home and listen to with the promise that what was recorded, if listened to intently, would open the listener up to the voice of God. The CD contained 30 mins of silence.
