What is Eikon

Eikon is the Greek for icon and refers to the visible manifestation of the invisible, but a manifestation that does not render the invisible present to us (otherwise it would be an idol). Eikon refers to any art exhibitions etc. that ikon does.

There is talk of a follow-up exhibition resembling 'One Colour Red' in 2007 dealing with enviromental issues, called 'One Colour Green'. Unfortunately this is currently on hold!

Past Eikon Events

"Love is the most important thing in the world, but football is pretty good too"

Tell us what you love and be part of a new art installation at the Waterfront Hall. Is it a toy, a memory, a special place or person or something you do? Children and adults can contribute to this growing artwork. Come along to a free art workshop and help artists from ikon to assemble an original installation built from what we all love. The exhibition will remain on display for the duration of the festival.
