Jon Hatch
From Ikon
Jon Hatch was raised in the working class suburbs of Newark, New Jersey. He holds degrees in music performance and Biblical studies, but has only ever been able to convert the former into any kind of a money-earner. He is a full time volunteer staff member with Youth with a Mission (YWAM), an international Christian organization, and has been involved with community development work in North America, Europe, and Australia. Politically, his anarchist-communist outlook leaves him with a level of disenfranchisement at which his IKON colleagues can only wonder. Spiritually, he fervently holds, in wildly varying degrees, to an abstract mélange of Reformed, Catholic, Orthodox, Rastafari, and Anglican theology, only doubts the existence of God infrequently, and usually repents of the attitude thereafter. When not indulging his passions for deafening punk and classic 60’s and 70’s reggae, he divides his time between being a musician, actor, published playwright, lecturer, ecumenist, peace activist, and anti-globalization campaigner. He lives in Belfast with his wife Amy and their two children, Iain and Eilís.
