Is it funny how this group can feel at home in a dingy bar, a high church, or a theatre space? Probably not. Anyway, I really enjoyed the gathering. I loved the variety; music, poetry, books, journal entries, videos. Plenty to take in and ponder. It was quite a show.

It is this ‘show factor’ that I had previously wondered about. Can Ikon do it? Should Ikon do it? Well, I’ve come round to thinking it’s a good idea. Why not excel in this transformative art? Why not put on a show? To push ourselves creatively, but to remain true to our desire for transformation in its exhibition. It would be fantastic if it were possible to engage those present, to the point of participation, and yet have an atmosphere that allowed people to sit at the back chatting and ordering drinks without feeling they were disrupting the night.
