Talk:Second Coming
From Ikon
This gathering was effectively symbolic in place, sounds, and interaction. Good to have time and the right space to contemplate something we don't often think about.
More effective miking would have made it more meaningful, as I could not make out much of what was said, nor could my friend who would be more openly critical.
And the post-gathering venue with its introduction to Wiki Ikon (second coming, second evolving of the original website, new Jerusalem - or maybe I'm pushing this theme too far?) also perhaps continued the theme, with the deep mystery involved in explaining the new wiki website, especially to the uninitiated, following this theme through. Would it have been possible/ appropriate, or actually more inclusive, to comment before starting, that it could be less than interesting to anyone not computer-literate?
Amusingly, those arriving late who were turned away for not wearing the right clothing (or had they not trimmed their lights?) bore some resemblance to a parable or two ;0)
Thanks for these thoughts. The vibe I pick up from the evening was that those of us who planned the night really enjoyed it - more than the people who took part in it. Bad sound etc. might have contributed to this, but I am interested in hearing the opinion of people there as to whether it worked and how we could have improved it (this is important as we are going to do it in America in a couple of weeks). On that point could we make sure that any comments about the night don't refer to what took place - just in case any of the people in America who will be there look us up before hand ;)!!! If you have a useful suggestion which might not be appropriate here (i.e. will give too much away) just email it to us. Thanks Pete

OK Pete, feel free to edit/delete as you wish! And have a great time in US - are you already there?
Norah
Thanks Norah - what you said does not give anything away at all! I am heading off in two weeks. Looking forward to it! Pete
