The Edited Creed

I believe in an a personal god, that can be spoken of in a creed, everlasting,
a God merciful to love me so much that He sent His Son to show us how to live,
yet everything we say about God is wrong, incomplete;
the Creator of heaven and earth, and my pal

I believe that if I have two coats I should give one away (although I do not do it)

and in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord, and understood lower case god.
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the 'Virgin' Mary,grew up, laughed and cried,
probably had a lonely and painful puberty, told stories, cared for all,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into Darfur, Rwanda, The Balkans, Chechnya, and the Ghettos of a million cities.

The third day He arose again from the dead.

He ascended into abstraction,
and sits at the right hand of Hashem the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead, the distracted and the bargain-hunter.

I believe in the Holy Spirit who brings hope to those who feel none,
who whispers to us Gods voice, in love, in hope,

the holy sons of Israel,
the communion of saints, both Jewish and Arab,
Catholic and Protestant, gay and straight;

One who is more about healing than blaming;
One who is there with us in our harm as well as our healing,
One who is there with us in our confusion as well as our certainty
One who is there with us in our brokenness as well as our beauty

the resurrection of the body in a new heaven and a new earth,
and life everlasting.

i believe in a God that supports and blesses those who live tolerant of others regardless of who they are,
but gently punishes those who live without this tolerance.

I believe we cannot decide what we believe alone and yet the people we need to wrestle with will not talk to us.

I believe in a God who commisions people to live prophetic life styles and act possitively to transform his beloved world.

Don't believe in riches, you should see where I live
Don't believe the Devil; the truth wouldnt be the same
Without the lies he made up.
I believe in Love (whatever that is...)
