The course is now six weeks long and is designed to invite participants to move beyond their current understanding of Christianity through a lively yet serious interrogation of faith. What we leave behind in the aftermath of this course is anyones guess and it may well turn out to be more than we expect or even desire. So please consider carefully whether this course is right for you at this time.

A workshop reading of Mike Riddell's new play 'Confession'

Mike Riddell is one of New Zealand's finest and most widely acclaimed writers. His books have nourished many seeking to live at the intersection between spirituality and everyday life. His early work Godzone was a key text for many in the early days of what has come to be known as the 'emerging church' while his theological/sociological refections Threshold of the Future offers an interesting analysis of the shifts underway in culture; and his play 'Jerusalem, Jerusalem', on the life of dissident poet James K Baxter was a national success, before touring the globe including at the Edinburgh Fringe. The film of his novel 'The Insatiable Moon' is currently in pre-production.

There will be an informal reading of Riddell's new play 'Confession' - which explores the meaning of faith and doubt in our current era. Written in the form of a dialogue between a lapsed churchgoer and an older priest, 'Confession' seeks to challenge accepted notions of forgiveness and spiritual authority.

This will be the first public performance in the world of 'Confession', by permission of the author. The play reading will be followed by a panel discussion.

The event will take place in the Black Box at 19:30
